Dada Legacy Awards – A Night of Celebrating Development Agents

The anticipated maiden edition of the Dada Legacy Awards came off on Thursday, October 2nd, 2025 at Alisa Hotel, Roman Ridge, Accra. The event celebrated Dr. Paul Kofi Fynn as the Ultimate Legacy Award recipient. The award was in recognition of his achievement, leadership, selfless contribution, and legacy in the development of Ghana and Africa. In his acceptance speech, Dr Fynn in a selfless manner stressed on the fact that “material possessions are vanity, the key is serving the people.” 

The night also celebrated and awarded other outstanding individuals driving development in Ghana in the areas of Health, Education, Business Innovation, Philanthropy, and Collaboration; the First Lady of the Republic and Founder of Lordina Mahama Foundation, Mrs Lordina Mahama, Dr Akosua Dzifa Hagan (Registrar, Lutheran Theological Seminary), Mr Stephen Ameyaw (Founder and CEO, Shrinq Limited), Mr Ibrahim Mahama (Founder, Engineers and Planners), and Ghana West Africa Medical Mission Inc. respectively.

The Keynote Address was delivered by Nana Addae Gyamera I, Chief of Feyiase, Ashanti region, who reflected on the profound influence of Dr. Paul Fynn. He highlighted how Dr. Fynn’s legacy in business, leadership, and compassion continues to serve as a shining example for both the young and old, inspiring a new generation of leaders to embrace service and sacrifice.

Prior to his speech, Mr Obed Donkor, Head of Fund Mobilization and PR, in his welcome address, briefed audience on the activities of Dada Foundation and purpose of gathering setting the tone for the night.

A key milestone of the event was the unveiling and launch of the Dada Legacy Project, a GHc 5 million maternity facility at Atua Government Hospital. In a presentation by the Acting Executive Director, Mr Jacob Fynn, the launch was just the beginning of a twelve months fund mobilisation campaign in collaboration with OmniBsic Bank, official banking partner for the project.

The night brought together strategic partners and sponsors of Dada foundation-Ghana, policy makers and representatives from Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation. It was not only an evening of recognition but also a call to collective action to develop Ghana and Africa.
