Background and Rationale for the Legacy Project

After five years of working in various communities, we asked ourselves one big question: What challenge in society should we focus on most as we mark our 5th anniversary? As a team, guided by our Acting Executive Director, Mr. Jacob Fynn, we reflected on our core areas, thus Health, Business Innovation, and Education. The answer was clear: we needed to focus on health, specifically on changing the story around maternal mortality in Ghana. After five years of working in various communities, we asked ourselves one big question: What challenge in society should we focus on most as we mark our 5th anniversary?

Over the years, through our work with health professionals and medical institutions, one issue has stood out, many communities still lack well-equipped maternal facilities. This remains one of the biggest barriers to reducing maternal mortality.

With our commitment to mother and child healthcare, we launched a Project that will impact mother and child health care in Ghana. The goal is simple: provide decent, adequate maternity facilities, one community at a time.

At first, we thought we could take on this project alone. But after our first site visits with construction and medical teams, it became clear that the scale was bigger than we imagined. For a moment, we almost gave up. Then we asked ourselves: What if others share this vision but are just waiting for someone to take the lead? That thought kept us going.

Why Odumase Krobo for the first project? We used two criteria. First, we looked at national health data to identify areas most in need. Second, we chose to begin closer to Accra and gradually expand across the country.

Today, we are proud to present the Dada Legacy Project. This is not just our project, it’s a shared effort. Together, we can give mothers and children the care they deserve.
