    Prof. Samuel Lartey

    borad chairpersonSamuel Lartey is currently the Head of Research, Technology and Consultancy at the Chartered Institute of Bankers. He was appointed a Full Professor (Professor in Computer Technology and Financial Information Systems) in 2013. He is a trained Academician and an Educationist. He is an Information Technology and Financial Information Research Scholar.


    Samuel has held many different academic and professional roles both locally and internationally. He develops academic and professional education, mentoring and learning and development programmes for various professional and academic institutions. He manages adult learners’ following all the quality assurance protocols to achieve the learner Institutions overall business objectives.


    Samuel holds a PhD in Financial Management (Computational Finance, 2011), an MBA in Management Information Systems (MIS, 2004) and a Degree in Social Science (Political with Computer Science, 1999). Samuel is a Chartered Financial Manager (CFM, USA) and a Chartered Project Engineer (PMP, USA). Samuel is a member of the Institute of Directors in UK and Ghana and a Lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, Accra. He is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) Accra, a Project, Research and Curriculum Development Consultant.


    Samuel works as an adjunct Education Director for the European Institute of Financial Directors, UK, and monitors developments in best practice within the financial services and banking industry ensuring that creative solutions are developed and incorporated into the professional curricula. He initiates and implements ways of improving efficiency and effectiveness in the institution(s) to operate within budget and provide value for money.


    Samuel worked with Barclays Bank (now ABSA for 6 years) and with Stanbic Bank (for another 6 years). Samuel extended his career to become an Investment Banker and worked as a market operator under Securities and Exchange (SEC). He worked as a Chief Operations Officer for two local SEC licensed Investment Banks. He has a profound experience and knowledge in banking operations, project research, educational development, global training delivery and curriculum development.
