8 Students Awarded Phoebe Scholarship at WIUC-Ghana

On June 6, 2024, eight students from Wisconsin International University College, Ghana (WIUC-Ghana) received the prestigious Phoebe Scholarship, awarded by the Ghana West Africa Medical Mission (GWAMM). This happened as part of a special dinner, held at the WIUC-GH Accra Campus, to recognize the tremendous contributions of GWAMM in education, healthcare, clean water provision, sanitation, ministry, and their recent Mobile Clinic initiative in the Ashanti Region.

The enthusiastic recipients—Josephine Mensah, Josephine Papafio, Portia Boateng, Rita Dahamari Wunpini, Juliet Ayamga, Victoria Pokua Bonsu, Rita Laadi Bilinbont, and Gifty Kmassah, have been admitted to pursue degrees in General Nursing and Midwifery at both the Accra and Kumasi campuses of WIUC-Ghana. This generous scholarship covers their tuition, and accommodation, and provides a stipend for the duration of their programs.

Each student was presented with a laptop along with their scholarship certificate. The grateful students expressed their heartfelt thanks to GWAMM, promising to excel in their studies and make the most of this incredible opportunity.

The event not only celebrated the students’ achievements but also highlighted GWAMM’s unwavering commitment to fostering education and healthcare improvements in Ghana.
